So how DO you stay healthy in the  time of Covid-19?

During this time of Covid-19 and lockdown it becomes harder and harder to maintain your sanity.   Your stress levels are fluctuating between “I’m actually doing OK ” to “OMG when will this end” – or worse!! So what can you do if you feel that everything is on top of you? You are on your own, you cannot work, you need some space, you feel angry, lost, you have panic attacks!!??

It may not feel it but we are particularly lucky to have all the amazing technology that is available to us at the moment.  This means that we can access so many fantastic resources that can help.

On Mental Health awareness week there is support out there more than ever.  There is that old adage that you never know what is going on in somebody else’s life.  Outward appearances can be deceptive.  People may not realise you are struggling!

Where to get help

Call people, your friends or family – if you need help they would really be honoured that you have reached out to them.
Put away phones, stop watching the news – have a digital free day.
Make sure you manage to get enough sleep.
Get outside into the fresh air.
Notice five things in the world around you that are beautiful!
Stay hydrated.
Try meditation!

Take control of your health

Taking control of your health and situation may seem like a daunting task.   By adding just one or two changes to your daily life however can make all the difference to your health and wellbeing.  As a therapist I love to be able to give my clients their ‘homework’.  I think it is important that people realise that they have it within their means to be able to look after their health themselves.  There are lots of self help techniques on my website – from techniques to reenergise the body, to stay centred, to help you if you feel that it is all getting on top of you – and much more.
